Alice Louise Kearns was born Nov. 25, 1925 in Tooele, Utah. She was the youngest of seven children of Peter Francis Kearns and Ernestine Rees Kearns. She died peacefully in Salt Lake City, Utah on Feb. 6, 2014. Alice graduated from Tooele High School, where she played the drums in the band. She attended USC for a short time then returned to Tooele and married Dean F. Sharp in 1947. Dean received his degree from Utah State and went to work as a petroleum and then coal geologist for what became Exxon Mobil. They lived in Vernal, Utah, Manhattan, Kan., Miles City, Mont., Fort Smith, Ark., and Denver. Alice and Dean always stayed close to their families in Tooele and also cultivated many life-long friendships with Exxon friends. They continued to travel extensively after Dean retired. Dean died in 1995. Alice was a warm, artistic and energetic lady who was a great wife, mother and friend. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by Susan Sharp (Robert Galbraith), Lafayette, Colorado and Sally Sharp (Darwin Lee Jepsen), Salt Lake City, grandchildren Christine, Megan, Lizzie (KayC Jolley), Andrew and Rachel Jepsen, and great-grandchildren Alicea and Milo Jolley.
