Alma Louise Wittenburg

Alma Louise Wittenburg passed away at her home in Alamo, Texas, on June 23 with her family close by. Born in April 1941, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Larry, father Bradford Walters Sr., and father and mother-in-law Pete and Evelyn Wittenburg. She is survived by daughters Mary Lou Freche (Greg) and Ginger Long Wittenburg; grandchildren and great grandchildren; mother Pauline Walters; brothers Brad (Clara) Walters, Ronald (Margaret) Walters, and sister-in-law Susie Wittenburg. Louise met and married Larry while working at Dugway where Larry was stationed with the U.S. Army. Soon they were on the move from post to post (Washington, Colorado, Georgia, New Jersey, and several times in Germany). She would always work in civil service, sometimes in hospital admin. After her husband’s retirement from the military, she went to work for the McAllen, Texas, police department as secretary to the police chief for 23 years. She then retired to stay home and care for Larry when he became ill. Family was very important to her. She was proud of her girls, and each and every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the Lord and taught her girls to love the Lord as well. She enjoyed playing bingo at the halls in Texas, and the slot machines when she visited her mom, dad and brothers in Grantsville. Funeral services were held at RGV Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas, on Thursday, June 27. Till we meet again…
