Betty Gean Palmer, 83, passed away Feb. 5, 2014 after a short illness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was born July 6, 1930 in Hatton, Utah, to Olive Whitaker and Leonard Ahlstrom. She was raised moving around living in Railroad Section housing as her father worked for the Railroad. She enjoyed her childhood and often spoke of fond memories with her parents and two brothers Leo and Joe Ahlstrom. Betty married Robert Hanes Morison on April 3, 1953. They had three children whom she adored: John H. Morison, James R. Morison (Carrie), and Linda Evans (Kendall Marler). Robert preceded her in death. Betty married Charles Milton Palmer in June 1993. She loved Chick dearly and enjoyed the years they spent together. He was her best friend. Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings and served faithfully in them. Betty was employed at the Tooele Army Depot in Cost Accounting. She retired after 25 years of service. Betty was happy and enjoyed life. She was a friend to all who met her. Betty was a beloved grandmother to Jennifer Morison Davis (Josh), Joshua James Morison (Jennifer), Aleesha Evans Izatt (Lee), Eric Robert Morison, Alaina Alldredge Chalk (Sheldon), and Rachel Mariah Morison. She had eight great-grandchildren who she dearly loved and would light up when she saw them, including Braedan Morison, Mikah Morison, Ben Trujillo, Neeka Trujillo, Shay Morison, Cambria Izatt, Eli Izatt and Capri Chalk. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 with a viewing on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014. Please contact Tate Mortuary for times and location.
