After giving up a slim 3-1 lead in the late stages of the game, the Buffaloes’ varsity baseball team lost its second-straight game in the varsity prep summer league.
Tooele hosted the Clearfield Falcons on June 6, and held a lead for the majority of the contest. An early 2-0 lead held for the first three innings, with each team trading runs in the fourth to give the Buffaloes a 3-1 margin mid-way through the game.
However, the Falcons’ bats came alive at the top of the sixth and they recorded six runs and overtook Tooele with a 7-3 lead. The Buffaloes were only able to respond with a single run at the bottom and ultimately lost 7-4 after the game was called before the top of the seventh.
Up next for Tooele is a two-game road trip against the Roy Royals on June 8 and Syracuse High on June 12. The team returns home June 13 to play host to the Stansbury Stallions.
