Carmela Angela Gualtieri Robertson Denney (Millie)

Obit Carmela Angela Gualtieri Robertson DenneyCarmela Angela Gualtieri Robertson Denney (Millie) left her peaceful, quiet life in this world Nov. 23, 2019, of causes incident to old age.

Millie was born in Tooele, Utah, on June 23, 1930, to Emidio and Guissippina Brunetti Gualtieri. Her parents immigrated from Agnone, Italy, in the 1920s. Her father worked at International Smelting and Refining before opening Walter’s Café on Broadway. Millie and her sisters spent their after school hours working in the family restaurant where she met and married Lloyd Robertson. They moved to the San Francisco Bay area until 1962 when they returned to Utah to help Bob and Jemma Johnson run Bob’s Garage in Grantsville. Lloyd later became a long-distance truck driver and after his death in 1972, Millie met Hudson John Denney to whom she was married until his death in 2000. She lived next door to her daughter in Grantsville until Saturday.

She babysat for neighbors, worked in a school lunchroom, and worked at the Skyline Restaurant, Elena’s Café and the Midtown Café. She loved being a florist in Draper but enjoyed bingo, slot machines, crossword, and jigsaw puzzles more in retirement.

Hopefully the entire Gualtieri family, Emidio, Guissippina, Elena, Jemma, Jean, Ilda, Millie and Angelo, are now reunited and enjoying a big spaghetti dinner in heaven. Millie is survived by one son, Dan (Donna) Robertson of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; and one daughter, Cathy (Scott) Williams, Grantsville; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also blessed her life.

At Millie’s request, no funeral will be held. Her ashes will be placed in the Gualtieri/Robertson family burial plot at the Tooele City Cemetery. The family extends a special thanks to Sheila Snow, Cindy Valdez, Dr. Sara Carstensen and her hospice nurses for their patient care during the past year.
