Cecilia Carmelita Salazar “Sissy”

Obit Cecilia Carmelita Salazar “Sissy” AOur beautiful, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 13, 2013 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Obit Cecilia Carmelita Salazar “Sissy” BCecilia was born on March 28, 1949 in Embudo, N.M., to Elizardo and Sally (Romero) Vigil. She attended elementary school at TAD park; Junior and High School in Tooele, Utah. She married Jose Salazar on Aug. 29, 1970, and together they had two sons, Mario and Chris Salazar. Cecilia worked at the Tooele Valley Nursing Home for a few years before she worked for Walmart, in which she dedicated 24 years. She was known as a hard worker and made numerous friends during her employment. Cecilia was a kindhearted person who always thought of others before herself. She loved to bake and cook delicious meals for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Cecilia enjoyed trips to Wendover and Bingo with her friends. Cecilia blessed our lives with her unconditional love and kindness. She was an amazing individual who will be missed by all that knew her. Cecilia leaves behind her sons: Mario (Becky), Chris (Melissa); father Elizardo Vigil; sisters: Rosie (Larry) Herrera, Marcella Aragon; brothers: Lawrence Vigil, Gerald (Geneil) Vigil; eight granddaughters, one grandson and one great-granddaughter. Cecilia is preceded in death by her husband Jose Salazar; mother Sally Vigil; grandparents Eduardo and Onofre Vigil, Jose and Regina Romero. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, 11 a.m. at St. Marguerites Parish. Friends may convey their condolences one hour prior to the service. Graveside service will be at the Tooele City Cemetery. “We lost a Loving Lady but Heaven gained a Beautiful Angel.”
