This is in regards to your Nov. 1 letter to the editor titled “Serious consequences.”
I would like to remind your paper that your Letters Policy states that letters must be “civil in tone.” I do not consider the insults hurled by the author to be civil in tone.
There are many forums available for people to insult each other based on their political beliefs. However, the Tooele Transcript Bulletin should have higher standards than publishing petty name calling. A rational discussion of issues in a public forum is vital to our democratic process, but should be accomplished in a respectful manner rather than using childish personal attacks.
