Chris Simmons Robbins passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at the University Of Utah Hospital from a sudden illness. He was born Jan. 10, 1954 in Ogden, Utah to Thomas and Julia Robbins, the 3rd of six children. He attended schools in Stone, Idaho, Tyhee as well as Pocatello High School. Chris married the love of his life Julie Williams on Oct. 18, 1991. Together they have 4 children, Shane, Layne, Keith and Crystal. Chris loved to hunt, fish and camp with his boys especially in Topance and Spencer. He loved the Utah Jazz and the Kansas City Chiefs. He worked at the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 plus years first in Pocatello, Idaho and then in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a hard worker, never missing a day of work. He gained many lifelong friendships with his fellow Carmen while working there. Everything that Chris did he did for his family or for those around him. He will be greatly missed by all that loved him. He is survived by his wife Julie, sons Shane Robbins, Layne Robbins, Keith (Mandi) Williams and daughter Crystal (Chad) Scheffelmear, four grandsons, and one granddaughter, brothers, Bob (Barbara), Monty (Cindy) and Curt (Micki) Robbins, sister Cheryl and sister-in- law Colleen Robbins, His father and mother-in-law and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tommy Robbins. As per Chris’s request he was cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Tooele 3rd Ward 141 W. Utah Ave., Tooele, Utah. In Lieu of flowers a trust fund has been set up at Mountain America Credit Union. We would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Mountain West Medical Center ICU and The University of Utah SICU for the care and the compassion they gave to Chris and his family.
