It is time for me to “put up or shut up.” I am choosing not to “shut up.” I made a personal commitment to myself to attend all Tooele County Commission Meetings this year. So far so good. I also made a personal goal to try and get the meeting times changed to an evening hour. I wanted to make it easier for more citizens like myself to attend these meetings without taking personal leave from their work to attend. I stood up during the open session of the meeting held Feb. 5 and added my statement to others already made ahead of me. On the meeting held this week Feb.19 the commissioners changed the time for these meetings from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on a trial basis until the end of June 2013. I have now made a personal commitment to use all the efforts I can to get the meeting room moved from Commission Chambers to the Court Room down the hall. The only way this will happen is if there are more people attending than the current room can hold. Last Tuesday was close to having to be moved. Please commit to helping me by attending the next scheduled meeting March 5 at 7 p.m. I know our current leaders need and want input from citizens. With the current state of our country and our county, we all need to make a personal commitment to give our best efforts to help, and we need to demand the same from all elected officials. Face to Face is more powerful than Facebook, etc. Thanks to all who took the time to read this.
