Commissioners overlooked

The Tooele County Commissioners overlooked one cut: Their own salaries of $75,000 to the lead commissioner and $70,000 to the two other commissioners plus benefits. That is way too high for part-time work! The proof of this is the mess they got the county into financially over the past eight years.

I believe the county commissioners should be paid $20 an hour, and not to exceed $40,000 a year with no benefits for their part-time work. No more full-time employment and being a county commissioner at the same time.

If the commissioners will not take action, then this suggestion and alternate suggestions should be placed on the ballot at the next election. The citizens of Tooele County can make their own decision.
