County residents will receive discount for races

MMP offers locals 50 percent off ticket price to pro motorcycle event 

Extra incentive now exists for Tooele County residents to attend the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing event with a 50 percent discount for those who live in the county.

The event, scheduled for Aug. 2-4, will feature the AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike, AMA Pro GoPro Dayton SportBike, AMA Pro SuperSport and the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series. The AMA racers have a full doubleheader weekend with two races for the National Guard SuperBike, GoPro Daytona SportBike and SuperSport series. The AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series will have one race.

To receive the 50 percent discount, Tooele County residents can purchase tickets at the Miller Motorsports Park box office and provide some form of resident identification, including a driver’s license, utility bill, letter with Tooele County address or anything else that proves they are residents of the county. Tickets can also be purchased online at

The country’s best motorcycle road racers, including AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike’s three-time champ Josh Hayes, Roger Hayden and Josh Herrin, will be battling it out on the world’s fastest production-based motorcycles at speeds approaching 200 mph on the state-of-the-art Miller Motorsports Park track. The paddock will be open to fans, allowing them to check out the teams at work and get autographs from the riders. The weekend will also include stunt bikes, karting, vendors and food.

The weekend’s schedule includes practice and qualifying on Friday with free admission for everyone, then final qualifying sessions and Race 1 for the National Guard SuperBike, GoPro Daytona SportBike and SuperSport series. The weekend concludes on Sunday with warmups, the single Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series race and Race 2 for the National Guard SuperBike, GoPro Daytona SportBike and SuperSport series.

Regular admission prices for the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing event are $25 per day or $40 for the weekend. Kids ages 12 and under are admitted free of charge.
