Daughters of Utah Pioneers hold spring convention

The spring convention of Tooele County Company and Tooele Valley Company of Daughters of Utah Pioneers was held together in April with installation of officers for both boards in the two companies.

Katherine T. Brimhall, International Recording Secretary and Marker Chairman, was present and spoke to more 100 DUP members of the importance of writing histories and getting them to international for permanent recording. Membership in Daughters of Utah Pioneers was encouraged with an open invitation for anyone with ancestors arriving in Utah prior to 1869 to contact a local camp and start their own journey of discovery of their pioneer ancestors, who, with faith, fortitude and fierce devotion and sense of adventure, forged a link between the past, present and future.

Special recognition was given to Mary Lou Jefferies and Gwen Roberts for service to their community and Daughters of Pioneers.
