Dave was born in Tooele, Utah, on Feb. 24, 1945, to William Lee Anderson and Vivienne Mason. He was the third of four boys. In high school he loved playing sports (football, basketball and track).
He graduated from Grantsville High School in 1963, and attended Brigham Young University. He met his sweetheart while dragging Main Street in Tooele. He said the first time he met her, he knew she was the one.
He married his love, Judy Ann Unser, on May 13, 1967, in Ely, Nevada. They later were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and eternity. This past May, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, surrounded by family and friends.
As a boy, he spent much of his time working in the family store (Anderson Grocery). He worked as a graphic artist for the Tooele Transcript for more than 20 years and finished his career at Hudson Printing in Salt Lake City.
Dave dedicated his life to serving his family and others. His home was open to anyone, especially his kids’ friends.
He was the happiest when spending time with his family. The family diligently saved money to travel Europe twice. The family reminisce about these trips with many fond memories that Dave helped create for them.
You rarely saw Dave without his camera on his trips and at the kids’ sporting events. He decorated his home with his beautiful photography and he loved to travel and was an avid reader.
Family history was a huge passion for Dave. He wanted to know more than names and dates. He spent many hours researching relatives and bringing their stories to life.
He served faithfully in many callings in the LDS Church. He especially loved working with the youth and enjoyed his calling as branch president for the Cooley Lane Branch.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Ann; brothers Terry (Joann) and Byron (Corrie); his children: Michael (Shonda) Anderson, Jill (Jerry) Maxwell, Lee Ann (Brian) Hobbs and Daniel (Andrea) Anderson; 23 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and Tommy the cat.
