A long-standing annual community tradition that attracts over 3,000 youth will debut in a new venue this year.

The Tooele County Chamber of Commerce’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held for the first time at Miller Motorsports Park this Saturday, according to Jared Hamner, chamber executive director.

Previously, the Easter egg hunt was held at Deseret Peak Complex.

“Miller Motorsports Park has been and continues to be a giant in our community, and we are thrilled to team up with them this year,” he said.

In addition to hosting the mammoth hunt for brightly colored eggs, MMP will open up its zip line for free rides, and karting sessions will be discounted by $5 during the hunt.

“We are excited to host this year’s Tooele County Easter Egg Hunt,” said General Manager John Larson of Miller Motorsports Park. “The people of Tooele County have been fantastic neighbors since we opened this facility in 2006, and we are always looking for meaningful ways to give back to the community.”

The Easter Egg Hunt will also include free bounce houses from Jumpin’ Jack Splash; a visit from Salt Lake Bees mascots, Bumble and the Honey Bees; cast members from the Empress Theatre in Magna’s production of “Shrek! The Musical”; and free hot chocolate and coffee courtesy of Denny’s of Tooele.

MMP concessions will be open and other vendors will be on hand for the hunt.

“This is going to be the Easter Egg Hunt of all Easter egg hunts,” said Sandy Critchlow, Easter Egg Hunt coordinator for the chamber. “We wanted this year’s event to be more than just an Easter Egg Hunt, and the added attractions that Miller Motorsports Park will provide will make this year’s edition the best ever. There are a lot of companies throughout the county that help make this event possible, and we greatly appreciate their generosity.”

The Tooele County Association of Realtors, EnergySolutions, and Stericycle are sponsors of this year’s Easter Egg Hunt, according to Critchlow.

Volunteers have helped stuff over 10,000 eggs with candy and certificates for prize drawings. Prizes in the drawing include bikes, scooters, “Shrek! The Musical” tickets, MMP bounce back tickets, Easter baskets, and more, Critchlow said.

Gates at MMP will open at 10 a.m., and the Easter Egg Field will be open at 10:30 a.m. for kids aged 2-4 and special-needs kids; 11 a.m. for kids aged 5-7; and 11:15 a.m. for kids aged 8-11.

“We hope that everyone from throughout Tooele County will come out and join in the fun,” said Critchlow.
