Fire at County landfill

A fire at the Toole County Landfill at 2830 S. Bauer Road, off SR-36 between Tooele City and Stockton, broke out on Monday afternoon, Nov. 13.

North Tooele Fire Department, Tooele City Fire Department, and Grantsville Fire Department responded.

A high wind carried smoke from the fire across western Tooele Valley towards the Tooele Army Depot and Grantsville.

The fire departments knocked down the flames, but the fire continued to smolder and smoke. No lives or habitable property appeared to be in danger.
