A former Grantsville teen was killed Thursday in a car crash near St. George that is still under investigation by police.
At about 1:30 p.m., 16-year-old Jaelin Woodruff’s car went off the road and down a steep embankment from Telegraph Road in Washington, said Lt. Dennis Bailey of the Washington City Police Department. Woodruff was ejected and killed.
The cause of the crash, and whether or not Woodruff was wearing a seatbelt, is currently under investigation in a joint effort between WCPD and the Utah Highway Patrol, he said. Bailey said he anticipated the investigation would likely not be complete until Thursday or Friday.
Woodruff and her family moved to Hurricane from Grantsville in 2012. She will be buried in the Grantsville City Cemetery Wednesday following a funeral at 11 a.m. in the LDS 14th Ward Chapel on Durfee St. For more information.
