I was sorry to learn of the recent passing of Gary Griffith (“Gary Griffith honored for lifetime achievements by chamber days before death,” Jan. 31). I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family. He was a remarkable man who contributed greatly to making the world a better place. He touched my life in a number of ways, not the least of which was providing me — and many others — a way to earn the funds necessary to complete my education. This experience aided me more than just monetarily. I learned the value of hard work and the satisfaction that comes from the completion of a task well done. I am extremely grateful to have known and worked for Gary Griffith.
