Erin L. Anderson, a graduate of Grantsville High School, has been awarded a $4,000 scholarship from Tesoro.
This year, Anderson is one of 50 children of Tesoro employees to receive a scholarship. In total, Tesoro awarded $200,000 in scholarships to help deserving students attend accredited two- and four-year colleges and universities across the United States.
Anderson plans to attend Utah State University in the fall and will major in sociology. She is the daughter of Frank L. Anderson, an employee at Tesoro’s Salt Lake City refinery.
Recipients of the Tesoro scholarship are eligible to renew their scholarships for up to three years, provided they maintain at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent). In all, Tesoro could provide Anderson to $16,000 toward her education.
