Grantsville wins three matches in St. George

Grantsville won three of five tennis matches at a tournament in St. George on Friday and Saturday.

The Cowboys defeated Maeser Prep 5-0, Pine View 3-2 and Orem 5-0 while losing 0-5 to Desert Hills and 1-4 to Riverton.

Braden Sandberg finished 3-2 in his matches at first singles with an 8-2 win over Maeser Prep, 7-5, 6-2 win over Pine View and a 7-5, 6-2 win over Orem. He lost pro sets to Desert Hills 3-8 and Riverton 1-8.

Tanner Elsholz was 2-3 at the tournament at second singles with wins over Maeser Prep 8-2 and Orem 6-4, 6-2. He lost matches to Pine View 4-6, 3-6, Riverton 3-8 and Desert Hills 2-8.

Tyler Colson finished 3-2 at second singles with victories over Maeser Prep 8-0, Orem 6-2, 6-0 and Riverton 8-6. He lost to Pine View in battle 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-7 and Desert Hills 5-8.

Devin Orgill and Zac Garrard finished 3-2 at first doubles with victories over Pine View 6-1, 6-4, Maeser Prep 8-0 and Orem 6-3, 7-6 (7- 5). They lost 6-8 to Riverton, and 1-8 to Desert Hills.

Jacob May and Dallin Dalton finished 3-2 at second doubles. The pair defeated Maeser Prep 8-2, Pine View 6- 0, 6-0 and Orem 6-3, 7-6 (7-5). They lost 6-8 to Desert Hills and 1-8 to Riverton.

Grantsville will host Ben Lomond on Tuesday, April 10.
