Hazel Jean (Day) Parish

Obit Hazel ParishHazel Jean (Day) Parish, of Tooele, went home to be with her Lord on May 3. She was born July 31, 1932 in Panama aboard a U.S. Navy Hospital Ship to Roy and Ruth (Amundsen) Day. Hazel was a devoted wife, mother and missionary. She attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C., where she graduated in 1955. She married Patrick Elmo Parish in June 1955. Hazel and Elmo served the Lord together in ministries at Bethel Baptist Bible College in Decatur, Ill.; East Park Baptist Church in Decatur, Ill.; Bible Baptist Church in Hotchkiss, Colo.; Garnet Mesa Baptist Church in Delta, Colo.; Calvary Baptist Church in Lamar, Colo.; Immanuel Baptist Church in Glenwood Springs, Colo.; Calvary Baptist Church in Lakeport, Calif.; and Grace Baptist Church in Pueblo, Colo. After this, Hazel and Elmo went to Australia to serve as missionaries for 11 years. After returning to the United States, Hazel served with Northwest Baptist Missions at Mountain View Baptist Church in Grantsville. She is survived by sons Stephen Parish, Philip and Diane (Scott) Parish, Timothy and Shirley (McClave) Parish, and Daniel and Cheri (Rice) Parish, grandchildren Jeremy Parish, Axel Parish, Maria Rico, Regina Brodsky, Elisabeth Parish, Jamin Parish, Heather Parish, Mark Parish, Paul Parish, Elise Parish, Caleb Parish, Heath Parish, Joshua Parish, and great-grandchildren Rylan, Brody and Lexi Rico, Shelby and Tanner Brodsky, and Jasmine and Tyler Parish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Elmo Parish, and her parents, Roy and Ruth Day.
