James “Jerry” Litson began his journey in this life on Oct. 15, 1953, and on Oct. 9, 2013, just a few days shy of his 60th birthday, our Heavenly Father called him home. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Werito, and their children, Skyler Sardina-Werito, Denise Werito, Lavonica Werito and Dave Jensen, Jennifer Werito, and Jason and Krystal Werito. He also has two daughters who reside in Las Vegas, Nev., Arletta and Orletta Litson. They also had 20 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ella Litson, and his brothers Emerson Litson and Ricky Litson, and his son, Joaquin Sardina-Werito. He was a hard working man. He excelled at every trade he worked in. He was a construction worker, a flagger, and an architect. He mastered every trade he worked in. As “grandpa” he could fix everything from toys and cars to knee scrapes and sad days. His smile and laughter was enough to brighten even the worst day. He was recently baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just this past July. He taught his family the importance of taking care of each other and being there for one another through the examples he set as the patriarch of our family. He was loved by all who knew him and was a friend to all who met him. He will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Tooele Sixth Ward meetinghouse, 253 S. 200 East, Tooele, 9:30-10:30 a.m. for the viewing, 10:30-11:30 a.m. for the funeral.
