Jefferson Kershaw Miner Jr., 70, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, June 29. Jeff was born Oct. 29, 1942 in Norristown, Pa., to Jefferson Kershaw Miner Sr. and Margaret Loretta Kennedy Miner. When Jeff was a toddler, they moved to Springville, Utah, where he grew up. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on March 6, 1962, and served in active duty in Vietnam. He was also there during the Cuban Missile Crisis and served until Oct. 26, 1966, and was a reserve marine until March 16, 1968. When Jeff returned from the war he met the love of his life, Terryll Lee Callister in January of 1968. They were married Oct. 12 of that year in Springville, Utah, where he had his own drywall business. They had four boys and later moved to Tooele. While in Tooele, he worked at the Deseret Chemical Depot and recently retired in July 2011. Jeff loved being in Wayne County, enjoying the family cabin in Teasdale, Utah, ATV riding, rock hunting, hiking, fishing, and spending time with the family. Jeff had a love for all of his family, especially, but not limited to, his grandkids. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joan Klobucar, his father-in-law Robert Callister and an infant son. Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Terryll “Terry” Miner; sons Brandon (Jan), Brian (Lisa) and Zachary (Tiffany); nine grandkids; siblings Richard (Laree), Joseph Klobucar (brother-in-law), Don (Katherine), Glen (Kathy) and Craig (Barb); Alice Callister (mother-in-law). He will also be missed by his two dogs, Gizmo and Gracie. We would like to send special thanks to Dr. Trudel and hospice, especially Julie, Barbara and Heather, who took great care of him and our family. A viewing will be held Saturday, July 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 200 South and 200 West in Tooele.
