Joseph Patrick Robinson, a true Southern Gentleman, died on April 12, 2014, in Bountiful, Utah. He was born on June 24, 1931, in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, the only child of Cornelius John Robinson and Lula Love Dillard. He graduated from Notre Dame High School, and soon left Tennessee to pursue a life of service to our country in the Air Force. He traveled extensively throughout the world, including service in Viet Nam and in the Korean Conflict. Still, he never quite lost his Southern accent, and never forgot his polite Southern ways. He was liked by all who knew him. Joe is missed by his wife of 56 years, Clara Gowans (formerly of Tooele, Utah), and his four children, Patricia (Jim Cox) of Butte, Montana, Joseph Jr. “Guy” of Layton, Utah, David (Michelle Waite) of Huntsville, Utah, and Suzanne (Mario Santiago) of Buford, Georgia. He will also be missed by his eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services to celebrate Joe’s life will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1410 East Gentile Street, Layton, UT. Family and friends are invited to gather at 10 a.m., before the services, to visit and share memories. Interment will take place in the Utah State Veteran’s Cemetery at 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd, Bluffdale, UT at 3:00 p.m. the same day. Condolences may be sent to email@example.com.
