I would like to publicly thank the Tooele Jr. Jazz organization for bringing organized sports to our youth who would otherwise not have a chance to play these sports (unless you have high school-aged children).
Most importantly I wish to thank Coach Angela Fleming. Our community is a better place to live because of her! She has taken an interest in our youth not only to teach them the skills of basketball but has gone above and beyond what I expected. Not only did she take time away from her family and studies to coach our children, but she managed to include a team excursion to watch the high school girls play and also acquired tickets to watch and meet the coach of the University of Utah girls basketball team.
Her belief in our children that they can achieve anything they choose to through hard work, dedication, faith in themselves and a positive attitude will help in the decision making of at least seven girls I know of, throughout the rest of their lives. Because of the life lessons that you have taught them, our children are already champions regardless of the outcome of tournament play.
So Coach Fleming, thank you! Not only did you touch seven girls with an interest in basketball, but you touched this one parent with the knowledge that “one person can make a difference.” Thank you for caring!
