Just Believe

by Abby Beazer

Traditions are made to last,

Memories too.

An old jolly man,

Dressed in red,

Trimmed in white.

Flying through the air

In his toy-stuffed sleigh,

Pulled by those eight

famous reindeer.

The littlest girl,

Eyes all a glow

At the promise of

Ole Saint Nick

That night.

We read many, many stories

Of the great man

Making her even more excited.

At long last,

She sets out the traditional

Drink and sweets.

She finally goes to bed,

Dreaming happily.

The next morning,

The young one

Runs out of her room.

Cookies are eaten,

The milk is gone

And parcels and gifts have appeared.

It is early,

And perhaps faintly,

Jingling bells,

A ringing laugh,

A call to all

Can be heard.

If one just believes.
