Kathryn Broadway

Obit Kathryn BroadwayIf the world could remain within a frame, like a painting on a wall… I think we’d see the beauty then, and all stand staring in awe.” Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away early Jan. 19 due to illness. Kathryn Erz Broadway was born to Paul Fisher Erz and Judith Marie Tomney Erz in Ogden on May 18, 1949. Graduating from Bonneville High School and attending college in Rangely, Colo., Kathie’s true passion was in her art. She greatly enjoyed crocheting, painting, ceramics and making jewelry with her granddaughters. She married Gerald Cobb Neil on Dec. 2, 1968 and had three children: Kathryn, Jeffrey and Timothy. They later divorced, and she married Douglas Earl Broadway and gained a stepdaughter, Maggie. While serving more than 20 years on Dugway Proving Ground, she was a devoted mother, den mother and a very talented cook. Kathie was a true Girl Scout at heart and a nurturer who made friends wherever she went. She is greatly missed and survived by her children Katy (Steve) Salas of Skull Valley; Jeff (Vangie) Neil of Grantsville; Tim (Shannon) Neil of Tooele; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a very loving stepmother Gayle Erz; sister Karen (Billy) Kendrick; brother David Erz; stepbrother Cam Odekirk; and stepsisters Julie Odekirk and Jerilyn Ewing.
