Keep the prison there

Gov. Herbert is trying to get a bill passed to set a deadline to force the federal government to turn over public lands to the state of Utah. Public lands belong to all American people to enjoy and should stay under U.S. government control and not be turned over to special interest people.

He is trying to get a bill passed that exempts guns made in Utah from Federal regulations laws. Gov. Herbert is wrong. All laws are made by smart people to protect the safety of the people. And also Herbert supports to move the Utah State Prison. He said we must make this 700-acre parcel available for our continued growth for northern Utah Valley and southern Salt Lake Valley. This area is becoming a hub for big industries.

Tooele County better consider this mistake before it is too late. Will the state pay taxes if moved to our county if the 700 acres can bring in new companies that will bring in new jobs and pay a good tax base. If we turn down the state prison we will save water to help the new industrial company and keep the people from driving a long way to work. This will cut down on bad air and save a lot of time for people. Keep the prison there and bring in new jobs to our area. Gov. Herbert is only looking out for Utah and Salt Lake Valleys.
