Kenneth and Thelma Gollaher have had a busy year. Ken had extensive back surgery in November 2011, putting off celebrating their 60th anniversary until this year. Thelma celebrated her 77th birthday in June, while Ken celebrated his 80th in September. Their fourth annual family reunion was held Sept. 15 at the Lake Point Park with a Hawaiian flair. Those in attendance were: Kenneth and Thelma Gollaher, Al (Elesa) Gollaher, their children and grandchildren, Tyson Gollaher, Nathan, Kaden and Maleah, Tami Williams visiting from Texas, Ethan, Kyler, Jessi, Addi Strain, Elesa’s mom Diane Clark and her granddaughter Katrina Knight along with Katrina’s children Madison, Joshua, Emily, McCade, Braydon and Gracie, Deb (Mike) Schofield, their children and grandchildren, Chris (Emi) Schofield, Kelsea, Andrue, Meagan, Ryan and Alicia, Danielle Perez visiting from Texas, Bailey, Coby, Tyler and Leah Perez, Summer (Tony) Spinello, Evy, Bryce Schofield, Mike (Clarice) Gollaher, Kelly (Cathy) Gollaher, their children and grandchildren, Angie (Kurt) Hurdsman, Breanna, Dillon, Noah, Holly, Lindsay and her boyfriend Brendan Strain, John (Stephanie) Gollaher, and Sarah and her son Roman. Ken and Thelma started out their life together for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on a cold day in December. They built their first home in Grantsville, then moved a home from Garfield to reside in Lake Point followed by another move to Saltair in front of the Morton Salt Company. Ken graduated from the University of Utah which took the family of seven to Park Forest, Ill. They came back from Illinois, Ken giving up 18 years at the Morton Salt Company, to move his family back to raise their children in Lake Point. They then ended up in Anchorage, Alaska, for over eight years, but returned to Lake Point to finish out their life together, hoping to never move again. We love and appreciate all that Mom and Dad have given to us. They have taught us to be strong in our convictions and work ethic, loving to our fellow men, how to serve others and not take ourselves too seriously. We have loved our family time together camping, fishing, deer and pine nut hunting, parties for any occasion, Dutch oven cooking, vacations all over the U.S., family reunions and just being together. We love you, Mom and Dad. Happy anniversary.
