Lissel Arwen Dalton (Shorland), 33, of Tooele, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12. After hugging her family good night she passed away in her sleep. Lissel was born in Denver on March 28, 1980, but she always thought of Medford, Ore., as her home. She graduated from Phoenix High School, and went on to receive her bachelor’s from BYU and her master’s from Concordia University. Lissel is the mother of four amazing girls who adore and love her. Lissel’s favorite quote is from Maya Angelou: “The best part of life is not just surviving, but thriving with passion and compassion, and humor and style, and generosity and kindness.” Her family and friends know Lissel lived this way. Lissel also had a favorite scripture which sums up where she is now. “…I have beheld His glory, and I am encircled about eternally in the arms of His love” (The Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 1:15). Lissel, we look forward to when we can be found in your embrace again. Lissel is survived by her husband Tyler Dalton, her beautiful daughters Halle (9), Ava (6), Cambrie (4), Jacelyn (3), her parents Michael and Patricia Shorland, her siblings, Jesse, Helen, Matthew, Marisa, Iain, her grandparents Desmond and Pansy Shorland, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her grandparents H. Glenn and Idelina Busby. We will hold a viewing at Tate Mortuary in Tooele from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, and a funeral service in the LDS chapel located at 1717 N. Berra Blvd. in Tooele on Friday at 11 a.m.
