Mary passed away peacefully at the Mountain West Medical Center on March 18 from complications from a fall in her home. Mary Busio Elich was born Jan. 8, 1922 in Park City to Jack and Rose (Ferkovich) Busio. She attended schools in Park City and graduated in 1940. Mary moved to Salt Lake City where she was employed by the IRS for 35 years. Mary married Martin Elich on Nov. 2, 1957 and lived in Salt Lake City and moved to Tooele in 1977. Her hobbies included sewing and crocheting. She is preceded in death by her husband, Martin, parents, sisters Madelyn Ross, Katherine Busio, Helen Lloyd and brother, Mike. Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews. We wish to thank all of Mary’s neighbors and friends that were so good to her, Tony Leonelli, Jess and Maria Alverez, Tracy Jaynes, Melody Wiggins and Tom VonHatten. She always said she had the best neighbors and friends in the world. A special thanks to the staff at Mountain West Medical Center and Harmony Hospice for the kindness and comfort that was given to Mary and her family. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on March 23 at the Tooele City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation to your favorite charity in her name.
