Missionary from Tooele hit by car in Texas

An LDS missionary from Tooele was injured after being hit by a vehicle earlier this month.

Elder Michael Garver, 19, a missionary in the Texas San Antonio Mission, was hit by a vehicle while he and his companion were walking their bikes alongside a road on May 2, according to Ruth Todd, spokeswoman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Garver was taken to and given emergency care at a nearby medical center. He is currently “recovering very well,” said Todd. Garver’s companion was uninjured.

Garver left for his mission on March 6.
