More workshops scheduled for tourism grant application process

In case you missed the advertisement in the paper, Tooele County and the Tooele County Tourism Tax and Advisory Board are offering Grant Workshops to help prepare those who wish to apply for a Tourism Grant. 

The dates of the remaining workshops are Jan. 28 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Jan. 29 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Both meetings are located in the Tooele County Commission Board room, 47 S. Main Street, Tooele. All grants must be delivered by Feb. 3 by 5 p.m. in person, or online at Applications are found online at

In other goings on in the Tooele Couny Clerk’s office, we are busy getting ready for the Presidential Primary, which will be held March 3. This is a party-based election. There are primary races being held for the Democratic and Republican parties only. If you are not affiliated with one of these parties, you will not receive a ballot in the mail. You can still affiliate in person, online, or return your affiliation postcard by Feb. 3. If you sent in your affiliation card or ballot request after the Jan. 10 deadline, your ballot will be coming closer to the end of month, so please watch your mail for your official ballot. 

We have had a lot of confusion and calls concerning the county’s new website. The address is But if you Google Tooele County Clerk, the old website comes up, which is no longer being updated. If you would, please delete the cache in your browsing history, then go to the new website and bookmark it. That should take care of the problem. Thanks to all of those who have let us know about the problem.
