She was born May 4, 1926, to Richard Clark and Vivian Talbot Clark. She married J Don Garcia on March 5, 1950, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 17, 1954. They had six children: Gary, Gloria, Robbin, Gus, David and Kriss; 18 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was the greatest asset of their family business: Garcia Construction. J Don and Nona made sure that if you needed a job, one was available. She was the foreman, clean-up crew, delivery driver and chef. Basically, she did anything and everything that needed to be done. Nona worked tirelessly in all that she set her mind to, but her greatest work was protecting her family.
Nona’s life was centered around her family; they were everything to her. It didn’t matter what your circumstances were, you always had a special place in her heart. She was selfless and giving. If you were in need, she would figure out a way to help. She was nurturing and loved spending time with her family. Creating long lasting memories gave her the most joy. A favorite memory will always be walking into the house and being filled with anticipation from the smell of homemade bread and her yodeling.
Anyone who knew Nona knew what laughter was, how to work hard, what it meant to give, that love truly matters, and being a part of a family was most important.
We all treasure the memories we have and long to share them with her again.
