Dwain Orr

Dwain S. Orr passed away Feb. 17, 2005, at Jordan Valley Hospital. He was the fourth son of Nola and Lester Orr. Born in Tooele, Utah, June 10, 1927. Schooled in Clover and Tooele schools. He made his home in Stockton for many years. Member of the Tooele Methodist Church. As a youth he played the guitar and sang on the radio every Saturday with a group from Tooele High School.

He served in the Army for two terms. Among his many activities, he had been the head of the Youth Group at the Methodist Church and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. He sponsored and coached Bobby Sox Softball in Tooele. He was an avid bowler and traveled to the national bowling tournaments with his cronies. He made many friends over the years. He retired from Motor Cargo after which he had an accident that left him crippled. His sense of humor kept him going, and even up to the end of his life, he was joking with the people in the hospital.

He is survived by brothers and sisters: Gordon Orr, Spanish Fork; Eugene and Zella, Grantsville; Glen and Mary Ellen, George West, Texas; Nola Rae, Tooele; Pauline, Crescent, Calif.; and Lela, Riverton; and many nieces and nephews.

His ashes will be buried in the Tooele City Cemetery at noon Wednesday, March 2. Family and close friends are welcome to gather at the Sun Yuen Restaurant for coffee and refreshments at 1-2 p.m. in memory of Dewey.
