Peter Warburton

Obit Peter WarburtonPeter Clegg Warburton, 94, of Tooele, peacefully passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. He was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Tooele. He is preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Edith Warburton, his brothers Sherman and Gerald Warburton, and his wife Eleanor Warburton. He is survived by his sister Ruth Hardy, his son Lee Warbuton (Holly), daughters Lesly Lopez (Hank) and Patricia Podhurcak (Andy); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. Peter was a member of the LDS church, who served in the United States Army during WWII, later joining the National Guard, from which he retired. He also served as the Commander of the Tooele American Legion Post 112 for more than 20 years, and an avid lover of baseball, No. 1 Cubs fan. He enjoyed being outdoors and traveling to visit his children and their families. Viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. with service immediately following on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at the LDS Church, 180 S. Coleman Street in Tooele. Burial will be at Tooele Cemetery.
