Police seek Arby’s robbery suspect

A masked man robbed a Tooele restaurant and police are asking for the public’s help to find the suspect.

Officer Tanya Turnbow with the Tooele City Police Department said about 3 p.m. Sunday, a man wearing a ski mask and sunglasses came into Arby’s at 251 S. Main, and approached the cash register.

“He went into the store, brandished a handgun, demanded money and took off out the south doors on foot,” Turnbow said. “We weren’t able to catch him.”

The suspect was described as being about 5’9” to 5’11”, wearing a light-colored ski mask, gray sunglasses, a light-colored hoodie under a brown jacket, and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tooele City Police Department at 435-882-8900 or texting “TOOELETIP” plus the message to 274637 (CRIMES), or contacting Tooele County Dispatch at 435-882-5600.

Turnbow said although there were several other reports of similar robberies at other Tooele businesses across various social media sites, all other reports were unsubstantiated.

“This was the only robbery,” she said.
