Bob Blakely will celebrate his 80th birthday on April 15, 2016. Mr. Blakely, a native of Idaho Falls, Idaho met his wife, LouAnn Allred Blakely while attending Brigham Young University. They were married in 1957 and recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. After Bob and LouAnn graduated from BYU in 1959, Bob began his career as a mathematics teacher at Tooele High School. Bob taught at Tooele High for 28 years, and then accepted a position at LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. After retiring, Bob and LouAnn served two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The first was to Edinburgh, Scotland where they were instrumental in establishing the digitization program at the Scottish Archives. After returning, they served a second mission as hosts at the Mormon Trail Center in Florence, Nebraska and the Kanesville Tabernacle in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Bob currently enjoys traveling with his wife and participating in family history research.
