Rodger Blair Jenks quietly returned home to his Heavenly Father on April 18. He is the son of William Lavon Jenks and Delsa Jolly Jenks. He was born on Dec. 31, 1934, almost being a New Year’s baby. Rodger had an explorer-type personality and was always moving around the country finding all types of jobs. He finally settled in Grantsville where he has been for the last 14 years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by two sisters, Glenda Kearns and Corliss Dunbar, one brother, Donnie Jenks, and one son, Rodger Kim Jenks. Waiting to meet him in heaven are his parents and two sisters, Vardella Smithhart and Velva Phelps. Services will be held April 21 with a viewing at the Willow Creek Community Center, 236 W. Plum Street, Grantsville, from 11 a.m. to noon. A graveside service will follow at the Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan.
