Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away at home Feb. 25 surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. Born to George Emil Niskala and Mary Mayerle, in Ely, Minn.; later moved to Tooele in January 1945. Married the love of his life, his high school sweet heart, Jane Ann Lawrence of Tooele on July 3, 1953. From this union they had three children. Roy graduated from Tooele High School and later from Utah State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration with the status of Professional Engineer. He worked for EIMCO, Tooele Army Depot (retired) and El Dorado Engineering. Roy served two terms as president of the Tool Engineering Society. Roy had a great love for his family and was never happier than to have his home filled with his children and grandchildren. Roy and Jane loved their 14 years in Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and all the close friendships. Roy and Jane square danced for 23 years. Roy also enjoyed making his own soaps, lotions and lip balm. Survived by wife Jane and children: Dorothy A (Kevin) McGuire, Arlene K (Mike) Gallo, and David R (Brenda) Niskala, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with one on the way, two great-great grandchildren, and brother George R (Juanita) Niskala. Preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Melbourne and Edna Lawrence. There will be an evening viewing held on Feb. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tate Mortuary. Funeral Services to be held March 1 at 11 a.m. at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main Street, Tooele, at 11 a.m. with a viewing prior to services from 9:30 to10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Tooele City Cemetery.
