Ruby May Tillman Silva “Tina,” 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Jan. 4 at her home in Tooele. She was born Jan. 23, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Melvin and Eva (Nelson) Tillman. Tina grew up in Gresham, Ore., where she graduated from Cohimore High School in 1949. She moved to Martinez, Calif., where she met the love of her life, Julian Silva. They were happily married March 29,1952. They moved to Tooele in 1962. She loved her family deeply and unconditionally, celebrating each of their accomplishments as her own. She enjoyed being out and about and spending time with her family and friends. Doting on her granddaughters and great-granddaughters was the highlight of her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend that will be dearly missed. Tina was preceded in death by her parents Eva and Melvin, her stepmothers Maggie (Cornell) Tillman and Maxine (Gerstenberger) Tillman, and her brother Ronald Tillman. Tina is survived by her beloved husband Julian of Tooele; sons Ronald (Holli) Silva of Tooele and Roger (Wendy) Silva of St. George; sisters Ila Kruckman (Bus) of Portland, Ore., Ellen Owens of Prineville, Ore., and Anna Floyd (Kenneth) of Cotter, Ark.; brother Jack (Gladyce) Dempsey of Portland, Ore.; sister-in-law Loretta Anthony-Tillman of Boring,Ore., granddaughters Brycie (Niall) Pyper, Samantha (Curtis)Vincent, and Asia, Paris and Ireland Silva; great-granddaughters Shimmer and Isabelle Pyper and daughter-in-law Debbie Niesporek. A vigil will be held Jan. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Marguerite Catholic Church. The family will be greeting friends and relatives from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a rosary and eulogy from 7 to 8 p.m. A Mass will be held Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Marguerite Catholic Church. A graveside service will be held at Tooele City Cemetery at 11 a.m. after the Mass. Luncheon to follow at the church.
