Shirley Joy Weyland

Obit Shirley Joy Weyland1932 – 2013

Shirley Joy Weyland returned home to her Heavenly Father on October 22, 2013. Shirley was born to Albert and Louise Weyland on November 5, 1932. She was the youngest of four children. She was a resident of Erda, Utah her entire life, and lived in the Weyland family home until health reasons made it impossible to do so.

She was a resident of the Rocky Mountain Care facility in Tooele for the final years of her life. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including serving a mission to Louisiana from March 1963 to August 1964.

Shirley loved her family and the family farm, homemaking, gardening, reading and caring for any stray animal that came her way. She spent many hours entertaining nieces and nephews with games and candy making while they were growing up. She was an employee at Walmart for five years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Goldie Grgich and Lucille Rydalch, brother Dellis Weyland and nephews Ellis Grgich and Cary Weyland.

A viewing will be held at Tate Mortuary, 110 S Main, Tooele, on Friday, October 25 from 10 to11a.m. Interment will be at Tooele City Cemetery, 361 S 100 East, Tooele.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Rocky Mountain Care Facility for their many years of tender and loving care they provided Shirley while she was with them. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Shirley’s name to the LDS Missionary Fund, 15 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84150 or online at give.ldsp.org/memoriam.
