THS softball camp

The Tooele High School softball team will hold it annual All Skills Camp for ages 8-14 on Saturday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Deseret Peak Softball Complex. The camp will be conducted by the THS softball coaching staff which includes head coach Melanie Nelson and assistant coaches Whitnie Griffith, Mike Walker and Kelly Russell. Quality instruction in fundamentals of all areas of softball will be conducted. Campers are under constant supervision by coaches and staff. Lunch and snack will be provided during the day. Cost is $40 per person and campers will receive a T-shirt and lunch. Players should bring water bottles with water available on site. Players can register on the day of the camp with checks made payable to THS Softball Camp. Check in begins at 8:30 a.m. prior to the beginning of the camp. Grantsville baseball

Grantsville lost two games at Davis High School on Saturday 12-9 and 5-3. The Cowboys pounded out 10 hits in the first game, but committed five errors. Grantsville led 5-3 until Davis scored eight runs in the fifth inning. The Cowboys came back to score four runs in the top of the sixth to narrow the gap. Grantsville had six more hits in the second game, but four more errors. Davis led 5-3 after two innings and the teams were scoreless the next five innings in a seven-inning game. Dallen Erickson, Kelby Landon, Ky Fisher and Manny Begay all hit doubles in the second game. After a game at Stansbury today, the Cowboys play at Ogden on Thursday.

Adult soccer league

The first adult soccer league in Tooele County will begin having games on Saturday, April 21 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Deseret Peak Complex. League organizers said they were surprised the by amount of teams that wanted to compete in the league. “Our goal was to have five or six teams and we ended up with 10 teams which far exceeded our expectations,” said Jared Colledge of TC United Soccer. Teams from Stockton, Stansbury Park, Grantsville and Erda will be competing.

Overlake golf

Next men’s league event at The Links at Overlake is scheduled for Sunday, April 15. Players should call The Links at Overlake for more information at (435) 8802.

THS spirit wraps

The Tooele baseball team is once again selling the spirit wrap blankets. The blanket’s design celebrates Tooele High School’s Centennial. The cost of the blanket is $50 each. If purchasing more than one blanket, the price will lower to $45 each. Contact the THS Financial Office at (435) 833-1978 ext. 2106 to purchase the blankets.
