Dugway boys basketball
vs. Utah School for the Deaf and Blind

Jesus Valdiviezo had 15 points and Carl Jordan added 13 to lead the Dugway boys basketball team to a 55-24 win over the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind on Friday. Jake Whalen and Mikie Gould each had eight points for the Mustangs (3-2), who travel to Mount Vernon on Wednesday.

Wendover boys basketball
vs. Intermountain Christian

The Wendover boys basketball team outscored Intermountain Christian 19-5 in the fourth quarter Friday night en route to a 66-41 win at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield. Gustavo Carrillo led the Wildcats with 20 points, while Eduardo Gomez added 11.

Grantsville girls basketball
at Maeser Prep

The Grantsville girls basketball team led 23-2 after one quarter and never looked back en route to a 68-12 win over Maeser Prep on Friday night in Lindon. Hannah Butler had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Ashlee Edwards added 15 points for the Cowboys (4-2), while Sarah Ellett chipped in 10 points, including two 3-pointers. Grantsville faced Logan on the road Tuesday night in a game that was not complete at press time.

Wendover boys basketball
vs. Valley

Brayan Mendoza had 11 points, but it wasn’t quite enough for the Wendover boys basketball team in its 49-40 loss to Valley on Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield that snapped its six-game winning streak. Gustavo Carrillo added nine points for the Wildcats (6-1), who travel crosstown rival West Wendover (Nev.) on Wednesday.

Grantsville wrestling
at Evanston (Wyo.) Invitational

Koby Johnson finished third at 160 pounds and Thomas Coates was fifth at 106 for the Grantsville wrestling team, which competed Friday and Saturday at the Evanston (Wyo.) Invitational. The Cowboys finished 12th of 13 teams at the tournament, which included Utah foes Bear River and Weber, Nevada’s Spring Creek and Wyoming’s Rock Springs, Green River, Evanston, Lyman, Kemmerer, Rawlins, Big Piney, Mountain View and Pinedale. Grantsville traveled to West Valley City to face Granger in a dual meet that was not complete at press time Tuesday.
