Dugway boys basketball
at Utah School for the Deaf and Blind

Carl Jordan scored 27 points and hit three 3-pointers to lead the Dugway boys basketball team to a 70-40 win on the road over the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind on Tuesday in Ogden. Jesus Valdiviezo had 16 points and Jake Whalen added 13 for the Mustangs (5-3), who are off until a Jan. 4 home game against Utah Military.

at Tintic

The Tooele girls basketball team built a 20-2 first-quarter advantage, cruising to a 57-29 win over Tintic on Tuesday night in Eureka. Emily Webber and Mallory Searle each had 10 points for the Buffaloes (5-2), who carried a three-game winning streak into their Region 11 opener at Ogden that was not complete at press time Thursday night.

Wendover boys basketball
vs. St. Joseph

Eleven players scored for the Wendover boys basketball team in its 86-36 win over St. Joseph on Wednesday at the APA Eagle Tournament in West Valley City, led by Monico Guerrero with 16 points. Brayan Mendoza and Roger Maldonado each had 12 points for the Wildcats (7-2), who led 33-7 after the first quarter and 52-16 at halftime. Wendover played Intermountain Christian in a game that was not complete at press time Thursday.

Grantsville girls basketball
at Mountain Crest

The Grantsville girls basketball team came from behind in the second half, erasing a six-point halftime deficit before outlasting Class 4A Mountain Crest 57-50 in double overtime Wednesday night in Hyrum. Paige McCluskey sent the game to overtime with a 3-pointer as time expired. She finished with 12 points, as did Sarah Ellett and Madison Fields. Hannah Butler added 10 points for Grantsville. The Cowboys (6-3) will face Snow Canyon next Thursday at the Steve Hodson Cancer Classic in Cedar City, where they will also face Pine View and Juab.

Wendover girls basketball
vs. Pinnacle

Angelica Baldillo and Yanely Duenas each had 11 points to lead the Wendover girls basketball team to a 44-9 win over Pinnacle at the APA Eagle Tournament in West Valley City on Wednesday. The Wildcats (8-2) held an opponent under 10 points for the third time this season and didn’t allow a point in the fourth quarter. Wendover faced Intermountain Christian in a game that was not complete at press time Thursday.
