Lady Mustangs fall from tourney
Dugway dropped a pair of post-season decisions Wednesday and Thursday to fall from the Class 1A Girls State Basketball tournament at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield.
Piute outscored the Lady Mustangs in all four frames Wednesday to hand the Region 18 Co-champions a 55-26 setback in the first round of the state tournament.
LaCee Gleave and Heather Allen poured in 12 each and Bryanna Robinson hit for 11 to lead the Lady Thunderbirds to the state tourney triumph.
Tiara Stevenson paced the Lady Mustangs with a team high 10 and Jaynie Palmer contributed six.
Layton Christian captured a 36-32 win over Dugway Thursday in consolation bracket action to eliminate the Lady Mustangs from state play.

Green aces Stansbury Valerie Green fired a hole-in-one Thursday at Stansbury Park Golf Course.
The local linkster smacked the ace with a 9-iron on the 97-yard 13th hole.

Basketball tournament open
North American Youth Sports has several openings in its annual spring youth basketball tournament at Fremont High School in Salt Lake City, April 1-2. Entry fee is $95 and guarantees each team a minimum of two games. Entry deadline is March 11. Age brackets are: 5th-6th-grade boys, 5th- 6th-grade girls, 7th-grade boys, 7th-grade girls, 8th-grade boys, 8th-grade girls, 9th-10th-grade boys, 9th-10th-grade girls, 11th- 12th-grade boys, 11th-12thgrade girls.

Girls softball sign-ups set Registration for the Tooele Girls Recreation Softball League will be held at Macey’s Little Theater later this month.
The sign-ups are set for Feb. 23 from 6-9 p.m., Feb. 26 and Mar. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The entry fee is $45 for all ages. There will be a late sign-up fee of $10 for anyone after the Mar. 5 registration date. Birth certificates will not be needed. The season begins at the first of April and runs through June. Anyone wishing to coach a team should please register for a team at sign-up or call any of the listed numbers below.

Grantsville baseball meeting
The Grantsville Youth Baseball League has scheduled a meeting for Feb. 23 at Grantsville City Hall at 7 p.m.
All interested parents, coaches and league officials are encouraged to attend the meeting.
