Grandma Bernadine’s Dusk ’till Dawn tennis tournament

The annual “Grandma Bernadine’s Dusk ‘till Dawn” tennis tournament will be held Tuesday, July 3 at the Grantsville High School tennis courts. The tournament will begin at 7 p.m. Organizers are are asking for a $10 donation from each participant and also will raffle off some great items. All proceeds will be donated to the Utah Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.  Everyone is invited! Registration will take place at the start of the tournament. Basketball Camp

Registration for the Junior Stallions Basketball Summer Camp is now open at The camp will be July 16-19 at Stansbury High School from 9-10:30 a.m. for players in grades 6-8; 10:30 a.m.-noon for players in grades 3-5 and noon-1 p.m. for players in grades K-2. Salt Lake Bees

The Bees were blown out on back-to-back nights, falling 14-4 to the Reno Aces on Wednesday after losing Tuesday’s game 13-2. On Wednesday night, Salt Lake’s Jabari Blash went 3-for-3 with three home runs and four RBIs. Reno’s Kevin Cron was 3-for-5 with three home runs and seven RBIs, including a late-game grand slam off Bees catcher Francisco Arcia, who pitched the eighth inning in a mop-up role. Socrates Brito hit two home runs for Reno and Yasmany Tomas also went deep. On Tuesday, Tomas, Michael Perez and Rey Fuentes all went deep for the Aces in another offensive explosion. Salt Lake’s lone runs came on Nolan Fontana’s RBI double in the second inning and Dustin Ackley’s RBI triple in the fourth. The Bees (44-34) will look to salvage a split of the four-game series against the Aces on Thursday night in Reno before traveling to Las Vegas for a five-game series against the 51s that begins Friday.

Utah Royals FC

Utah Royals FC played to a scoreless draw against the Seattle Reign on Wednesday evening at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy. Utah outshot Seattle 18-7, including a 6-3 margin in shots on goal, but couldn’t convert on any of its opportunities. URFC currently sits sixth in the 10-team National Women’s Soccer League with four wins, three losses and six draws in its first season of competition, scoring a league-low 10 goals while allowing a league-low 10 goals. Utah will play host to Sky Blue FC on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
