Grantsville baseball
vs. Morgan

Brady Arbon threw a five-inning perfect game with 10 strikeouts and Parker Thomas homered twice in Grantsville’s 10-0 win over Morgan in a Region 13 home game Tuesday. Thomas finished 4-for-4, added a double and drove in four runs, and teammate Isaac Riding also had a double. On Wednesday in Morgan, Arbon went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and five RBIs, and Thomas combined with Matt Collier on a one-hitter in the Cowboys’ 13-0 win over the Trojans. Justin Richardson and Jake Paxton also went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. The Cowboys (9-2, 2-0 Region 13) will wrap up the three-game set with the Trojans on Friday afternoon at home.

at Morgan

The Grantsville boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday, falling 6-1 to Morgan in a Region 13 road game. Kayson Wilson had the lone goal of the game for the Cowboys (6-1, 0-1 Region 13), who face South Summit at home Friday afternoon.

at Woods Cross

The Stansbury boys soccer team lost 3-0 to Woods Cross in a non-region road game Tuesday afternoon. The Stallions (1-5, 1-3 Region 11) will resume Region 11 play Monday at Tooele.

Tooele baseball vs. Bonneville

The Tooele baseball team earned a split in the first two games of its Region 11 series against Bonneville, dropping the opener 9-6 at Dow James Park on Tuesday before bouncing back with a 20-10 win Wednesday in Washington Terrace that snapped an eight-game losing streak. On Tuesday, Payton Shields was 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. On Wednesday, the Buffs blew the game open with a nine-run seventh inning, pounding out 19 hits in the game. Trey Maumasi was 5-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs, Steven Laird was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and Jaxson Miner was 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs for the Buffaloes (1-8, 1-4 Region 11). The three-game series wraps up Friday in Tooele.

Stansbury baseball
vs. Park City

The Stansbury baseball team dropped a pair of 4-2 decisions to Park City on Tuesday and Wednesday, dropping the Stallions’ record to 2-3 in Region 11 play and 4-6 overall. On Tuesday, the Stallions led 2-1 through four innings, only to allow two runs in the fifth inning and another in the sixth. Stansbury’s Austin Woodhouse was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Justin Matthews took the loss on the mound despite a solid complete-game effort in which he allowed just three earned runs. On Wednesday, the Stallions got on the board first, but Park City scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and two more in the third to take control. Gage Miller was 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the loss for Stansbury, and Conner Kincaid pitched six innings on the mound and allowed just two earned runs. The Stallions and Miners will complete their three-game series Friday in Stansbury Park.

at Ben Lomond

Chris Rhea scored a second-half goal for the Tooele boys soccer team in its 4-1 loss to Ben Lomond in a Region 11 game Wednesday in Ogden. The Buffaloes (1-5, 0-4 Region 11) trailed 3-0 after the first 40 minutes. Tooele will play host to rival Stansbury on Monday.
