GHS soccer match postponed
Grantsville was scheduled to host Bear River Tuesday at home in Region 11 boys soccer action.
However, the two league foes couldn’t battle it out for a victory when officials failed to show up for the affair.
The Cowboys are slated to host Ogden Friday at 3:30 p.m. in another varsity bout. Grantsville ventures to Ogden to tangle with rival Ben Lomond Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in region action.
Buff baseball slated Friday
Tooele and Ogden were set to open Region 11 baseball action Tuesday at Dow James Park.
However, inclement weather and extremely cold conditions postponed the league game. The two teams are slated to meet Friday at Dow James Park, also at 3 p.m. in region action.
Tooele also hosts Morgan Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Dow James Park.
Lady Buffs play today
The two-time defending Class 3A champs were slated to venture north to Morgan and tangle with the Lady Trojans in Region 11 softball action.
However, inclement weather post-poned the game until today, also at Morgan at 3:30 p.m. Tooele returns home to host Ben Lomond Friday and host rival Bear River Wednesday, both at Deseret Peak Complex at 3:30 p.m.
Cowgirls fall 1-0
Grantsville and Bear River have a short history of playing tight games and Wednesday was no exception.
The Lady Bears rallied for a run in the bottom of the sixth and held on for a 1-0 victory over the Cowgirls in Tremonton.
The setback drops Grantsville to 1-1 in Region 11 play.
The Cowgirls hit the road to Ogden both Friday and Wednesday to meet Ogden and Ben Lomond, respectively, in 3 p.m. league contests.
Rec soccer referee clinic scheduled
There will be a recreation soccer referee clinic set Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Valley Mental Health building, 100 South 1000 West in Tooele.
