Utah Jazz

The Jazz had one of their best shooting nights of the season against the Hawks on Tuesday night.

Utah shot 39.5% (15-for-38) from beyond the arc, their second-best percentage on the year. Six different players knocked down a three-pointer, with four of them knocking down at least two.

“It gives you life,” Donovan Mitchell (27 points, 5-for-11 from deep) said postgame about the team finally knocking down some shots.

We made a shot.”

Those were head coach Quin Snyder’s parting words following Utah’s 110-98 victory over visiting Atlanta on Tuesday night.

Perennially one of the top three-point shooting teams in the league, the Jazz had gotten off to a shockingly slow start this year. Utah was sitting at 26th in the league, shooting the deep ball at 31.8% — nearly seven percentage points lower than last season.

The Utes currently hold a one-game advantage in the all-time series against Arizona when playing in Tucson, including a 35-7 win over the Wildcats in 2019. Utah has won two games in a row in Tucson (2019, 35-7; 2017, 30-24). In Utah’s last six games in Tucson, the Utes are 4-2 and have outscored Arizona 176-130 with the six games being decided by an average of 13.7 points.

This will be the final conference game between Weber State and Southern Utah, which has become known as the Beehive Bowl, and has seen some very memorable games in the series. The two schools have played every year since 2011, and Southern Utah joined the Big Sky in 2012. SUU is leaving the conference for the Western Athletic Conference in July 2022. Weber State has won four straight and five of the last six games against the Thunderbirds.
