Grantsville girls soccer at South Summit

The Grantsville girls soccer team scored four times in the second half to pull away for a 7-1 win over South Summit in a Region 13 game Tuesday in Kamas. Whitney Wangsgard scored four times for the Cowboys (7-2, 3-0 Region 13), who also got two goals from Hannah Gardner and a goal from Alyssa Roberts. Callie Carlsen, McKenzie Allen and Kaylee Romney each had assists in the win for Grantsville, and Adalyn Enslen made two saves. Grantsville played host to Judge Memorial on Thursday afternoon after press time. The Cowboys will face Summit Academy on Tuesday in Bluffdale.

Tooele volleyball at Uintah

Tooele’s volleyball team saw its 10-match win streak snapped Tuesday evening in Vernal, falling to Uintah 25-23, 22-25, 25-15, 25-23 in a match between Region 10’s top two teams. Brinley Smith had 20 kills and 10 digs for the Buffaloes (11-2, 4-1 Region 10). Emma Higley had 10 kills and 15 digs and Aysha Lewis had nine kills and seven digs. Amy DeSantiago had 29 digs and Breanna Beer had 21 digs and 30 assists. Tooele faced Ben Lomond on the road Thursday after press time. The Buffs will take on county rival Stansbury on the road Sept. 24.

Grantsville volleyball vs. South Summit

The Grantsville volleyball team battled hard to force a fourth set, but ran out of gas in a 25-18, 25-22, 22-25, 25-15 loss to South Summit in a Region 13 match Tuesday at Grantsville High School. Maison White led the Cowboys (3-10, 0-1 Region 13) with 10 kills and four blocks, and Halle Bartley added nine kills, two blocks and 10 digs. Raelee Giles had 13 digs, Hillary Cloward had 12 digs and 27 assists, and Kylee Broadhead had six kills and 10 digs. The Cowboys faced Summit Academy at home Thursday after press time. They will play host to Judge Memorial on Tuesday.

Tooele girls soccer at Uintah

The Tooele girls soccer team played even with Uintah in the first half of Wednesday’s Region 10 match in Vernal, but the host Utes got their offense going after halftime to beat the Buffaloes 3-0. The Buffs (2-10, 0-8 Region 10) will face Juan Diego next Wednesday night in Draper.
